LKB’s environmental group performs a variety of environmental services, including preparation of environmental impact statements and assessments, design reports, permits and siting studies, and assistance to clients in negotiations with regulatory agencies.

LKB is experienced in air quality and noise monitoring, modeling and abatement, wetlands delineation and restoration, hazardous materials and asbestos assessments, Environmental Compliance Audits, and landfill construction, management, closure and remediation.

We are fully familiar with SEQR and NEPA and have assessed environmental impacts from highways, bridges, airports, garages, marinas, railroad facilities, landfills, office buildings, power plants and pipelines. In addition, we have performed wetlands design, hazardous site investigations, and Phase I and II Environmental Assessments. We provide the necessary environmental services for infrastructure improvement such as sewage collection, pumping, and treatment facilities, water supply and distribution systems, EMF studies, solid waste disposal and storm drainage systems.

LKB also has a strong background in identifying and obtaining permits. We have obtained permits for wastewater and stormwater discharges, wetland enhancements, air emissions, landfills, site development projects, and water supply wells. As a result, we have developed strong working relationships with the various environmental agencies including the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Army Corp of Engineers, Suffolk County Department of Health, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, NYS Department of Health, Nassau County Department of Health, and New York State Department of State. Additionally, we have detailed experience in working with environmental agencies and planning boards for all the Towns on Long Island, as well as New York City and Westchester, Albany, Rockland and Orange Counties.

Our services include solid waste management, wastewater engineering, environmental assessments, and permitting. LKB is familiar with local, county, state and federal environmental rules and regulations.
