O’Dell Avenue Bridge Replacement header

About this Project

This project involved the replacement of an existing two-lane bridge over the bicycle path. Preliminary and Final Design Phases I-VI were performed for this Federally Aided project. Preliminary work included: data collection and analysis, survey and mapping, temporary and permanent easements, subsurface investigation, preliminary investigations and detailed environmental studies including air quality and asbestos studies. A Design Report was prepared based upon this preliminary work. Final design included the preparation of plans and specifications for the replacement bridge, and the modifications to the approach roadway. Final design elements include the replacement of the existing 72-foot long, 20-foot high steel girder bridge with a 24-foot long, 14.5-foot high precast concrete arch structure. Staged construction and temporary bridge closures and detours were required during construction.
