About this Project
LKB was retained by Suffolk County Department of Public Works, under Suffolk County DPW’s Culvert Inspection Program. LKB has inspected, evaluated, designed and prepared for the reconstruction of over 50 culverts, owned by Suffolk County Department of Public Works and Suffolk County Parks. The culverts varied in size from one-foot culvert pipes to 18-foot wide bridge type structures. Work included the inspection and evaluation of each structure, preparation of construction plans, specifications and estimates, preparation of environmental permits, construction support services, and construction inspection. Design included full culvert replacement, top slab replacement, concrete wall and slab repairs, modifications to wingwalls, adding slope protection and maintenance cleaning. One of the structures LKB inspected and rehabilitated included CR 105 over Horse Underpass, which was a pedestrian path.
