Belmont Lake State Park Building Rehabilitation

About this Project

LKB was retained by NYS Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation to provide structural inspection and structural engineering services for this project.

Construction documents were prepared for rehabilitation of the reinforced concrete floor system and entranceway walls at the 36,000 square foot regional machine shop at the Park’s Commission Headquarters. LKB conducted an in-depth, hands-on inspection of the floor system including concrete coring and testing, to identify areas of concrete deterioration and delamination. A detailed structural analysis of the floor system was performed to establish its structural integrity. Repairs designed by LKB included overhead patching, welded and mechanical splices of rebars and full-depth reconstruction. Another task included the restoration of brick walls adjacent to the basement entrance of the building. LKB prepared plans for the repair of additional deteriorated areas that had not been restored.
