VERTEX’s affiliate, Vertex Engineering, P.C., designed two towers on Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, which are 29 and 15 stories tall, completed in 2019. The 29-story tower is a water-front building that contains 126 luxury units for sale, including a penthouse that broke the record for the priciest home sale in Brooklyn in 2020. The 15-story building contains 140 apartment units with a mix of market-rate and affordable prices. The towers are constructed of cast-in-place concrete, with mild-reinforced flat plates for the floors to maximize unit ceiling heights and take advantage of post-card views of the Lower Manhattan skyline. The flat-plate design also facilitated a 2-to-3 day concrete pour cycle, which helped expedite the construction schedule.
