LKB has been retained by the Town of Hempstead Department of Planning & Economic Development to provide engineering services for the design and construction of various streetscape beautification projects, as part of the Town’s ongoing Revitalization Program. Engineering services include topographic survey, streetscape design, layout, preparation of contract documents, assistance to the Town during the bid phase, and resident inspection services during construction.
Streetscape improvements include the provision of new decorative pre-cast brick sidewalks, new curbs, concrete pavements and driveway aprons, handicap ramps, decorative street lighting, trees, and site furniture such as ornamental benches, planters and tree grates.
This Downtown Beautification Project consists of three locations:
Brooklyn Avenue, Baldwin Streetscape – This streetscape design consisted of new sidewalk and colored stamped concrete, restoration of a driveway apron and pedestrian lighting. LKB also performed construction inspection services.
Elmont Public Library, Elmont Streetscape – This streetscape design consisted of new sidewalk and colored stamped concrete, pedestrian lighting, and litter receptacles. LKB also provided construction inspection services.
Front Street, Uniondale Streetscape – LKB performed design services for this streetscape project which included new sidewalk, driveway restoration, colored stamped concrete, and pedestrian lighting.
