VERTEX has researched construction defects specifically related to building envelope issues, and findings suggest that construction disputes commonly involve the building envelope, and that the alleged building envelope construction defects and construction defects in general, are increasing within construction.
VERTEX evaluates an architect’s design and/or administration against the requirements of contract documents, applicable laws and regulations, and industry standards to opine whether or not an architect’s conduct met or fell below a requisite standard of care. VERTEX also evaluates whether a party attempted to include a higher standard, which may be interpreted as a warranty. Contract documents evaluated include the AIA owner-architect agreements and AGC’s Consensus documentation, to name a few.
