Transit & Rail Infrastructure Lead
Mr. Bolos is a civil and structural engineer with over 40 years of experience in the engineering rail transportation industry. He serves as LKB’s Transit & Rail Infrastructure Lead, utilizing his wealth of knowledge and experience interacting with numerous transportation and public works agencies such as MTA LIRR and NYCT, utility companies and local municipalities. He has extensive knowledge and experience in project management, design, design-build, construction management and maintenance of the rail transportation infrastructure and facilities. This experience includes bridge structures, stations, electrical substations, signals, and track geometry. He is familiar with ensuring compliance with the FRA, AREMA codes regulations/guidelines as well as MTA and NYSDOT specifications and standards.
Mr. Bolos is a former LIRR employee, having served as Principal Engineer of Structures, managing numerous design and construction projects, including design-build contacts. He has managed large engineering forces of nearly 300 professionals/various trades staff, providing oversight of contractors, and coordinating of various stakeholders traversing the LIRR ROW. Upon his retirement from the LIRR, Mr. Bolos now utilizes his knowledge and expertise to lead transit and rail teams, managing various transportation related projects throughout the NY metropolitan area.
