Roberto Clemente State Park Shoreline Restoration

About this Project

LKB was retained by NYS Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation to  provide survey and design services for restoration of the shoreline along the Harlem River at Roberto Clemente State Park in the Bronx.

LKB’s responsibilities included topographic survey of the entire site, and property survey to establish pier and bulkhead lines, and subsurface investigations along the proposed revetment, an inspection, and preparation of a report to describe existing conditions and recommend reconstruction alternatives for 1,600 feet of failing stone revetment. LKB also prepared final design plans for reconstruction of the revetment. LKB designed a pile foundation and prepared plans for the construction of a masonry-walled boathouse to be constructed in two phases for the Eastern States Rowing Association.

The project also included inspection, evaluation, and design of structural rehabilitation measures for the Park Activities Building masonry façade and multi-level roof with public plaza. LKB also designed a new ADA compliant pedestrian ramp.
